Clinton Arrow Athletics Celebrates 2024-25 Athletic Year Accomplishments

The 2024-25 athletic season has come to a conclusion for Clinton Arrow Athletics. The year was full of exciting moments, individual accomplishments, and state-level competition, including the Lady Arrow Track and Field team's 12th straight state title.

Off the field of competition, the Clinton Atheltic Department made improvements to facilities and joined HudlTV as the streaming partner of eight programs under its umbrella. Twenty-five of Clinton's 26 varsity teams were honored by the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Scholar-Athlete teams, achieving a combined team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.

The Arrows look forward to another exciting and successful year in 2025-26 calendar. Clinton remains a member of MHSAA Region 2-7A, arguably one of the most competitive leagues in Mississippi high school athletics, this athletic year.

COLLEGE SIGNINGS

Clinton teams had 23 athletes choose to continue their athletic and academic careers on the next level. Those players were:

FALL SPORTS REVIEW
  • The Women's Cross Country team continued its strong results in the 2024 season with a fourth-place finish in a competitive MHSAA Class 7A State Championship meet and had Kaedyn Wilson finish ninth individually -- her second consecutive Top 10 finish.
    • The CJHS Lady Arrows won the MHSAA Middle School Cross Country Classic, claiming the junior high's first-ever state title.
  • The Men's Cross Country team finished 10th in the MHSAA Class 7A State Meet and 16th overall in the state. Those marks are two places higher than 2024. Clinton is ranked eighth in the 2025 preseason polls.
  • The Arrow Football team showed improvement from the 2023 season, tallying a 4-6 overall record. Despite not making the MHSAA Class 7A Playoffs, the Arrows made some noise with outstanding wins over Warren Central, Brandon, and Starkville. Clinton notched a win over Terry, as well.
    • The Clinton-Brandon game is the highest combined score of 127 points.
    • With postseason honors, 13 Arrows were named to MHSAA Region 2-7A All-Region teams and two Arrows found themselves on All-State teams.

    • For the 2025 season, the Arrows will be guided by new Head Football Coach Hamer Morgan -- long-time assistant coach for the Clinton program.
  • The Women's Golf team secured its fourth straight Top 10 finish in the MHSAA State tournament. It was a seventh-place finish for the Lady Arrows, punctuating a successful year for the young women in Class 7A.
    • The Top-10 finish at the MHSAA Class 7A Tournament was the fourth straight year to do so at the state level.
  • On the Men's Golf side, the Arrows enjoyed a tournament win at the Clinton Invitational and landed Law Whitfield in the MAC All-Star Golf Tournament. 
  • In Swimming, CAST qualified nine swimmers to the Class 7A State Swim Meet at the Tupelo Aquatic Center. Those swimmers were Hayes Montgomery, Ellie Rushing, Kate Gilliam, Ashlee Sumrall, Clara McCombs, Abbie Rushing, Isaac Baird, Reed Watts, and Joshua Ross. The 2024 season marked the first-ever home swim meet for the Arrows on September, Sept. 14, at the Clinton YMCA.
  • In volleyball, the Lady Arrows gained valuable experience for a roster loaded with young players on the junior-varsity and varsity levels. Additionally, Clinton will be guided into the 2025 season by new Head Volleyball Coach Natalie DuVall

WINTER SPORTS REVIEW
  • The Lady Arrow Basketball team punched its ticket to the postseason and completed a strong season with an overall record of 20-10.
  • The Arrow Basketball team provided numerous thrilling games and continued to grow after replacing four of five starters from the MHSAA Class 7A runner-up finish in the 2023-24 season.
  • The Clinton Arrow Kingpins placed the Women's and Men's team in the Top 8 in the MHSAA Class III State Tournament. Additionally, both teams won their region.
  • The Lady Arrow Soccer team earned a 14-5-1 overall record and a trip to the MHSAA Class 7A Playoffs, bowing out to Oxford in the second round.
  • Arrow Soccer made it to the second round of the MHSAA Class 7A Playoffs, bowing out to Tupelo in a penalty shoot-out. The Arrows ended the season with an 11-6-4 overall record, finishing second place in Region 2-7A.
  • Clinton Archery ended the season with a trip to the MHSAA State Tournament and had its first-ever, independent CJHS team reach the state competition, too.
  • Allison Herron and Madison Kimble qualified for the MHSAA Class 7A State Powerlifting Meet. On the men's side, Eddie Eley and Vincent Van punched their tickets to the state competition.

SPRING SPORTS REVIEW
  • Lady Arrow Track and Field captured its 12th straight MHSAA State Title in the 7A classification. The Lady Arrows were so dominant in their championship that even the combination of the second-place and third-place teams would not have defeated the Lady Arrows.
    • The Lady Arrows claimed the MHSAA Region 2-7A and MHSAA North State championships, too.
  • Arrow Track and Field finished the season runner-up in the MHSAA State Title in the 7A classification. Leading up to the MHSAA State Meet, the Arrows captured the MHSAA Region 2-7A and MHSAA North State team title.
  • Arrow Baseball reached the MHSAA Class 7A Playoffs after missing the postseason in 2023. The Arrows utilized grit and determination to defeat MHSAA Region 1-7A Hernando in the opening round of the playoffs before bowing out to the Tupelo Golden Wave in the second round. The Arrows ended the season with a 21-9 overall record.
  • Lady Arrow Softball reached the MHSAA Class 7A Playoffs' second round with a first-round series victory over DeSoto Central High School. 
    • Five Lady Arrows captured postseason honors in MHSAA Region 2-7A. Keelyn Constancio and Annalise Whitworth earned Offensive MVP and Pitcher of the Year, respectively. Keelyn Constancio added Region 2-7A 1st team honors along with Makenzie Cooley. Estrella Constancio and Hayden Leigh Holifield were selected for the second team in Region 2-7A.
  • Clinton Arrow Tennis punched its ticket to the MHSAA Class 7A Playoffs and wrapped up another successful season on the court.
  • Clinton's E-Sport team captured second and third place in Super Smash Bros. at the MHSAA Spring State Championships.
