VICKSBURG -- The Clinton Men's Golf team competed at Warren Central's Viking Invitational on Tuesday.
Law Whitfield led the Arrows with his plus-3 75, and the team totaled 330 strokes for a third place finish at Clear Creek Golf Course.
Whitfield scored 3-over on the front nine and stayed even on the back nine with the help of two birdies. The senior opened the first half of the round with six straight pars and a par on the 9th. After the turn, Whtifield was 1-under through the first six holes of the back nine, which included a birdie on the 13th -- a par-3. After a double bogey on the 16th, Whitfield birdied the 17th and parred the final hole to secure the fourth-place spot.
Walker Raney collected a birdie on the ninth and tallied seven pars in his journey to an 84 on his card.
Jax Stover carded six pars and birdied the 17th as he collected an 85 for his round. Clinton's fourth score came from
Grayson Fortenberry, who scored a birdie and six pars that led to 86 strokes.

The Arrows host the Clinton Boys' JV Invitational tomorrow, Sept. 25, at Live Oaks Golf Club in Jackson. The Varsity team returns to action on Thursday, October 3, when it travels to the Mississippi High School Invitational at the Mississippi State University Golf Course.
