Clinton Track and Field wins team titles at Oxford Relays

The Clinton High School Track and Field teams opened the 2026 outdoor season in impressive fashion Friday at the Clinton Season Opener, turning in multiple first-place finishes and dominant performances to begin the campaign on a high note.

OXFORD -- The Clinton High School Track and Field teams delivered another dominant performance on Friday, March 6, winning both the girls' and boys' high school divisions at the Oxford Relays at Bobby Holcomb Field.

The Lady Arrows totaled 268.5 team points, crushing Caledonia's 85.25 team total, while the Arrows amassed 252 team points, defeating Tupelo by 141 points.

GIRLS HIGHLIGHTS

Khamrin Harper captured first place in the 100 meters with a time of 11.89 and returned to win the 200 meters with a mark of 24.74 seconds. Teammate Camille Lewis finished second in the 100 meters and third in the 200 meters, while Jade Evans placed second in the 200 meters.

In the hurdles and quarter-mile events, Andraeia Cavett won the 100-meter hurdles (14.32) and the 300-meter hurdles (46.96). Makayla Watson added a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles and second in the 300-meter hurdles.

Kamiah Mounger won the 400 meters in 58.65. In the 1600 meters, Caroline Henry finished second, and Riley Moore placed third. Henry later captured first place in the 3200 meters with a time of 11 minutes, 53 seconds.

Kennedy Williams won the discus throw with a mark of 110-08. Jaliyah Jackson placed third in the discus, as well.

Taylor Finley won both the high jump and the long jump. Kennedy Denson placed third in the high jump and second in the triple jump, while Jamaya Ivory won the triple jump with a mark of 36-05.5.

Tenley Prestwood won the pole event with a clearance of 11 feet, while Lilly Wayts finished third.

In the relay quartet, the Lady Arrows secured the top podium spot in the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800.

BOYS HIGHLIGHTS

Aiden Knox won the 100 meters with a time of 10.51, while Jaxcen Williams followed closely with a second-place time of 10.79. Jimmy Bowie placed fourth in the event.

Knox returned to the track to claim another victory in the 200 meters, clocking 21.81. Teammates Jeremiah Barnett (22.46) and Bowie (22.53) completed a podium sweep by finishing second and third, respectively.

In the hurdles, Carter Parks captured first place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.83, while Trevion Casnel followed with a runner-up finish in 14.71.

Parks and Casnel claimed first and second, respectively, in the 300-meter hurdles.

In the middle-distance events, Christian Tidwell recorded a third-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 50.48. Myron Pate placed fifth to lead the Clinton runners in the 800 meters. Godwin Onyia added a strong performance in the 1600 meters, finishing fourth with a time of 4:42.57, while Elijah Waldo-Speth also secured a fourth-place finish in the 3200 meters in 11 minutes, three seconds.

Nathan Perkins won the discus throw with a mark of 156-6, while Brennan Patrick added a third-place finish with a throw of 125-1. In the high jump, Jonah Banks cleared a 6-07 to claim first place. Banks also excelled in the long jump, capturing another victory with a leap of 22-01.5, while teammates Marcarius Smith-Sessions (21-09.5) and Anthony Blake (20-11) finished second and third to complete the podium sweep of the event.

Daniel Dickinson earned a second-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 13-0. Meanwhile, the Arrows swept the podium in the shot put as Jonathan Rockett won the event with a throw of 49-09.5 followed by Tyler Bilbrew and Tyboris Loftin.

Clinton shined the relay events. The 4x100, 4x200, and 4x800 relay teams won first, and the 4x400 relay team claimed second.

UP NEXT

Clinton returns to action, hosting the Arrow Invitational on Saturday, March 21. The meet is set for an 11 a.m. start time.
