CLINTON -- The Clinton High School Track and Field team continued its strong outdoor season by sweeping both team titles at the Arrow Invitational on a windy Saturday at Arrow Field.
The Lady Arrows won the girls' team competition with a team total of 253.5 points, while the Arrows won the boys' division with a team total of 251 points.
Khamrin Harper led the way for the Lady Arrows, winning the 100-meter dash in 12.22 seconds and the 200-meter event in 24.52. Andraeia Cavett added a victory in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.28 seconds.
Kamiah Mounger took first place in the 400-meter race, finishing in 58.23 seconds, while Caroline Henry won the 1600-meter run in 5:37.5. Taylor Finley claimed the high jump title by clearing five feet, four inches.
Tenley Prestwood secured first place in the pole vault with a clearance of 10 feet, six inches, and Clinton's girls 4x100-meter relay team raced to a first-place finish in 47.15 seconds.
On the boys' side, Carter Parks swept the hurdles, winning the 110-meter hurdles (14.21) and 300-meter hurdles (39.86). Myron Pate added a win in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.
Jonah Banks cleared six feet, eight inches to win the high jump, while Clinton's pole vault group swept the podium Daniel Dickinson finished first, clearing 12 feet, followed by Camron Lanyuy and Nehemiah Jones.
The Arrows also dominated the shot put, sweeping the podium as Jonathan Rockett won with a throw of 52 feet, 5.25 inches with Tyboris Loftin and Tyler Bilbrew finishing second and third.
Clinton's boys 4x800-meter relay team added another victory with a time of 8:26.31.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Camille Lewis finished fourth in the 100-meter dash, while Makayla Watson placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles. Jade Evans took fourth in the 200-meter dash, and Andraeia Cavett and Watson placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 300-meter hurdles.
Caitlyn Magee and Makenzie Holiday secured third- and fourth-place finishes in the 400-meter dash. In the 800-meter run, Makenzie Speed and Ellen Clair Fortenberry placed fourth and fifth.
After her first-place finish in the 1600 meters, Caroline Henry added a second-place result in the same event. Riley Moore finished fifth in the 1600 meters and fourth in the 3200 meters.
In field events, Kennedy Williams, Reagan Coleman, and Channie Agee placed second, third, and fourth in the discus. Kennedy Denson earned third in the high jump. Finley, Jamaya Ivory, and Kayla Coleman finished second, third, and fifth in the long jump, while Lilly Wayts joined Prestwood on the pole vault podium with a clearance of 8 feet, 6 inches.
Agee and Williams added third- and fifth-place finishes in the shot put, while Ivory and Denson placed second and fifth in the triple jump.
Clinton's 4x200-meter, 4x400-meter, and 4x800-meter relay teams each earned second-place finishes.
On the boys' side, Aiden Knox placed third in the 100 meters and second in the 200 meters. Trevion Casnel finished second in the 110-meter hurdles and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles.
Christian Tidwell took fourth in the 400 meters. Oniya placed second in the 1600 meters, followed by teammate Elijah Waldo-Speth in fourth. Waldo-Speth and Will Kennedy then finished third and fourth in the 3200 meters.
Rockett added a third-place finish in the discus. Marcarius Smith-Sessions placed fourth in the high jump and fifth in the long jump, while Anthony Blake finished fourth in the long jump.
Nathan Perkins secured fourth in the shot put. Blake added a second-place finish in the triple jump, with Osahon Ekunwe taking third.
The Arrows' 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relay teams both finished second, while the 4x200-meter B team placed fourth.
