MADISON -- The Clinton High School Men's Soccer team came up short Friday night, falling to 2-1 to the Madison Central Jaguars in a MHSAA Region 2-7A contest at Jaguar Stadium.
Madison Central struck first when Landon Dale finished a breakaway to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage in the 32nd minute.
The Arrows responded almost immediately. Just two minutes later,
Juan Parades whipped in a far-post cross off a free kick, and
Bradley Wells flicked the ball into the back of the net, leveling the match at 1-1 in the 34th minute.
Madison Central regained the lead in the 68th minute as Charles Chambliss headed home the Jaguars' decisive goal off a long throw-in.
Despite a late push, Clinton was unable to find an equalizer as the Jaguars held on for the region victory.

The Arrows return to Arrow Field to host the Starkville Yellowjackets on Tuesday, January 20, for another MHSAA Region 2-7A game. Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m.
