After falling behind the Germantown Lady Mavericks, the Clinton Lady Arrows could not do enough to erase a six-run deficit on Thursday night.
The Lady Arrows manufactured a four-run rally in the sixth inning, but they fell to the Lady Mavericks, 6-4, at Clinton High School. Germantown collected series sweep with the win.
Trailing 6-0, Clinton closed the gap with a
Cailyn Willis walk, an
Estrella Constancio two-run single up the middle of the diamond, and
Makenzie Cooley's one-run single. However, the Lady Arrows went down in order during the seventh frame.
Germantown jumped out to the lead in the top of the third after Lily Bittle doubled, scoring two runs, Presley Merkich doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored another. The visitors added two more runs in the sixth inning for the six-run advantage.
Clinton outhit the Lady Mavericks 10 to seven and were led by
Estrella Constancio's three hits.
Keelyn Constancio and
Hayden-Leigh Holifield each collected multiple hits for the Lady Arrows.
