FLORENCE --
Hayden-Leigh Holifield drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Clinton Lady Arrows past the Florence Lady Eagles 12-2 on Tuesday night.
Holifield singled in the second inning, scoring two, hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth, scoring one, and singled in the sixth, scoring another Lady Arrow.
Clinton's
Ashlen Albritton earned the win. Albritton allowed four hits and one run over four innings, striking out two and walking two.
Annalise Whitworth provided two innings of relief. Whitworth allowed two hits and one run inside the circle, striking out one and walking a pair.
The Lady Arrows piled up 11 hits against the Lady Eagles. Mackenzie Cooley and
Kaelyn Thames each collected two hits. Clinton batters had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game.
Destiny Funchess and
Madison Nelson led the team with two free passes each.
Clinton got on the board in the second after Holifield's single scored two runs. The Lady Arrows added one run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth frame for a 5-1 advantage.
The visitors broke the game wide open in the sixth, scoring seven runs. Funchess singled, scoring one run,
Estrella Constancio hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, an error score another run, Whitworth singled, scoring one run, Thames doubled, scoring a pair of Lady Arrows, and Holifield singled, bringingh in the last run for the visitors.
UP NEXT
Clinton will host the Warren Central Lady Vikings on Friday. The Lady Arrows' Junior Varsity team plays at 4:30 p.m., and the Varsity team at 6:00 p.m.
