The Clinton Arrows Track and Field teams put on a show this past Saturday at the Saint Andrew's Invite in Ridgeland. The Arrows racked up 13 first place finishes on the track and in the field.
Junior
Omari Hampton won the Boys 100 meter dash with a time of 10.76. Hampton also won the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.83. Sophomore
Aiden Knox finished 2nd with a time of 22.71.
Senior
Jenesis Williams won the Girls 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.18. Williams also won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.07.
Sophomore
Carter Parks won the Boys 300 meter hurdles with a time of 41.30.
Junior
Howard Banks won the Boys 400 meter race with a time of 49.20.
The Arrows' Relay teams also found high levels of success as well. The Girls 4x100 meter team of
Ashley Hunter,
Tacherria Lawson,
Kayla Coleman, and
Nakirsten Hughes won with a time of 48.12. The girls 4x200 meter team of Hunter,
Kamiah Mounger,
Kayla Richardson, and
Khamrin Harper also won with a time 1:43.18.
The Boys 4x200 meter team of Banks, Knox, Hampton, and
Kaleb Moore won their event with a time of 1:27.45.
In the field, the Arrows racked up wins as well. Senior
Evan Camper won the Boys Discus Throw with a throw of 132 feet, 10 inches. Freshman
Nathan Perkins finished close behind in 2nd place with a throw of 128 feet, 3 inches.
Senior
Cayden Wilson won the Boys Shot Put with a throw of 48 feet, 3 inches.
Sophomore
David Peabody and Senior
Creston Garlington both cleared 13 fee, 6 inches in the Boys Pole Vault to finish 1st and 2nd. Senior
Kennedi McCord and Junior
Kate Jackson finished 1st and 2nd in the Girls Pole Vault as well. McCord cleared 11 feet and Jackson cleared 10 feet.
The Arrows return to action on Thursday, March 7 as they travel to William Carey University to compete in the Carey High School Challenge. Events will begin at 9 AM.
