BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Clinton High School Track and Field teams opened their indoor track seasons at the Magic City Invitational #2 on Saturday, posting two first-place finishes and several top-10 placements in the process at the Birmingham Crossplex.
FIRST-PLACE ARROWS
- The Women's 4x200m relay team of Ashley Hunter, Kamiah Mounger, Karsen Goodwin, and Khamrin Harper brought home a first-place finish, posting a time of one minute, 42.85 seconds.
- Carter Parks set a personal record and won the men's 60m hurdles, posting a time of 7.99 seconds.
TOP-10 ARROWS
- Dwight Palmer, Jr., Jimmy Bowie, Jaxcen Williams, and Aiden Knox finished second, third, sixth, and 10th, respectively, in the Men's 60m. Palmer posted a team-fastest time of 6.874 seconds.
- Khamrin Harper finished in fifth place, clocking a personal-record time of 7.81 seconds in the women's 60m.
- Andraeia Cavett set a personal record and posted a time of 9.00 seconds in women's 60-meter hurdles.
- Shekinah Jenkins and Makenzie Speed finished ninth and 10th in the women's 800m race, posting times of 2:35.54 and 2:35.61. Both runners are sophomores.
- Jonah Banks, a sophomore, grabbed a podium-finish with a high jump of six-feet, six inches, which was strong enough for third.
- Taylor Finley set a personal record in the women's high jump with a successful jump of five-feet, two inches, and secured a second-place finish, while Kennedy Denson cleared the bar at four-feet, 10 inches, grabbing a third-place finish.
- Jimmy Bowie placed ninth in the men's long jump, posting a jump of 20-feet, 10.25 inches, while Banks added a 10th-place finish, posting a 20-foot, six-inch jump.
- Taylor Finley grabbed 10th with a jump of 15-feet, 10.75 inches in the women's long jump.
- Tenley Prestwood cleared 10-feet in the women's pole vault, finishing in third place.
- Tyler Bilbrew secured a fourth-place finish with a shot-put throw of 49-feet, five inches. Tyboris Loftin, Jr., and Nathan Perkins finished seventh and 10th, throwing the shot put 46 feet, four inches and 44 feet, one inch, respectively.
- Kailey Daliet threw for 32 feet, five inches in the women's shot put, finishing in fifth place, and Nila Washington placed in eighth with a throw of 30-feet, 10 inches. Both tosses were personal records for Daliet and Washington.
- In the men's triple jump, Anthony Blake finished seventh, posting a jump of 43 feet, 10 inches, while Osahon Ekunwe jumped 41 feet, eight inches -- strong enough for a ninth-place finish.
- Jamay Ivory had a successful jump of 37 feet, one inches, securing a fourth-place finish in the women's triple. Kennedy Denson (34-11.25) was the seventh-place finisher.
- The Men's 4x200m relay team finished in second place, running a time of 1:30.27. The crew included Bowie, Williams, Knox, and Palmer, Jr.
- The Women's 4x200m relay team of Camille Lewis, Noelanni Chinn, Makenzie Holiday, and Jade Evans posted a time of 1:46.48, finishing in sixth place.
