JACKSON -- The Clinton High School Women's Cross Country team put forth a strong effort in the season's penultimate meet on Thursday afternoon.
A relatively warm, October afternoon at Choctaw Trails, Clinton claimed the top spot in the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Region 2-7A Cross Country Meet, defeating Madison Central High School by 11 points. The victorious Lady Arrows placed its five scoring runners in the 5000m race's top 10.

Caroline Henry placed second overall with a time of 20:46.05, and
Kaedyn Wilson was the overall third-place finisher, completing the race in 20:56.95.
Olivia Gibbs was the Lady Arrows' third finisher as she posted a time of 21:22.97 and placed sixth.
Riley Moore was one spot behind Gibbs as she completed the course with 21 minutes, 26 seconds.
Payton Greer completed the race in 21:51.06 and claimed the ninth-place spot.
The 5000m race consisted of five of the six Region 2-7A schools, including Germantown High School, Murrah High School, Starkville High School, and Madison Central.
