The 2023 Annual Mississippi Gridiron Magazine was published this week with a thorough preview of the high school landscape as the 2023 season kicks off for a majority of programs throughout the state. The Arrows play a key role in the publication as they are projected as the 8th best team in Mississippi regardless of classification, the 6th best team in the new 7A classification, and the 4th best team in Region 2-7A.
The Arrows' region is stocked with talent, as defending champion Starkville is picked to repeat as the first 7A champions in Mississippi football history, while Tupelo is ranked in the top 5 at #4, and the Jaguars of Madison Central are ranked at #6 overall in the preseason poll.
Clinton at Madison Central is listed as one of the top 5 Games to Watch when the Arrows travel north to visit the Jaguars for the second year in a row in an attempt to repeat the instant classic from last season that ended in a 28-21 victory for the Arrows.
Clinton begins its 2023 campaign by traveling west to Warren Central in a matchup of 2 ranked teams. Warren Central (#10) is picked to win their region (2-6A) and are also picked to represent the North Half at the 6A level. The game is scheduled to kick off at 7 PM at Warren Central High School in Vicksburg this Friday night, August 25.
