CLINTON -- The Clinton High School Football team was well-represented on the 2025 Region 2-7A All-Region teams with nine Arrows earning postseason recognition for their standout performances this season.
Davon Merchant (defensive line),
Miles Bass (defensive back),
Graham Williams (offensive line), and Braylen Spann (specialist) were each named to the Region 2-7A First Team.
Clinton also placed five players on the Region 2-7A Secon Team as
Dallas Johnson (defensive line), Donovan Shaiffer (linebacker),
Cameron Cornelius (defensive back),
Tyboris Loftin (offensive line), and
Braylon Lowery (running back) were honored by district coaches.
ABOUT DAVON MERCHANT
Davon Merchant, a Jackson State University commit, constant disrupter for opposing offenses throughout the 2025 season. The senior defensive standout — also a Mississippi Association of Coaches MHSAA Class 7A First Team All-State selection — routinely burst past guards and tackles, finishing the year with 38 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, six sacks, and a fumble recovery. Merchant will represent the Arrows in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game on Saturday, Dec. 13, at  the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
ABOUT MILES BASS
Miles Bass delivered steady leadership and savvy play on the back end of the Arrows' defense throughout the 2025 season. Bass, a senior, had 21 tackles, including 17 solo tackles, one tackle for loss, a team-high 13 pass break-ups, and three interceptions.Â
ABOUT GRAHAM WILLIAMS
Graham Williams combined intelligence and physicality to anchor the Arrows' offensive line, clearing lanes for the run game and keeping the pocket clean for sophomore quarterback
Jayden Jones. The junior offensive guard played a key role in Clinton's balanced attack, helping the Arrows rack up 1,507 rushing yards and 1,404 passing yards on the season.
ABOUT BRAYLEN SPANN
Braylen Spann capped a standout senior campaign as the Arrows' punting and kicking specialist. He punted 41 times for 1,266 yards, including a season-long 52-yarder, while forcing six fair catches and pinning 10 punts inside the 20. In the kicking game, Spann went 17-of-19 on extra points and connected on 13-of-17 field goals with a long of 41 yards. He also recorded 21 touchbacks on kickoffs. Spann will represent Clinton in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game on Saturday, December 20, in Gulfport.
ABOUT DALLAS JOHNSON
Dallas Johnson was a constant headache for opposing offensive lines, knifing into the backfield and shutting down rushing lanes all season long. Johnson, a senior, finished the season with 27 tackles, including 23 solo tackles, along with nine tackles for loss, two sacks, and a fumble recovery.
ABOUT DONOVAN SHAIFFER
Donovan Shaiffer anchored the Arrows' defense from his linebacker position, serving as a steady presence throughout the 2025 campaign. The senior totaled 35 tackles, including six tackles for loss and two sacks, while adding a pass breakup, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery that he returned 12 yards.
ABOUT CAMERON CORNELIUS
From his safety spot,
Cameron Cornelius delivered a lights-out 2025 season, anchoring the Arrows' defense with poise and leadership. The senior led the team with 52 tackles, added four tackles for loss, and contributed six pass breakups and two interceptions, showcasing his versatility and command of Clinton's secondary.
ABOUT TYBORIS LOFTIN
Tyboris Loftin was a bruising force in the Arrows' trenches, using his 6-foot-2, 285-pound frame to consistently move defenders and pave the way for Clinton's playmakers. The junior offensive lineman helped power a balanced offense that finished with 1,507 rushing yards and 1,404 passing yards this season.Â
ABOUT BRAYLON LOWERY
Sophomore running back
Braylon Lowery made a seamless transition from defense to offense ahead of the 2025 season, becoming a reliable playmaker for the Arrow offense. The powerful bruiser carried the ball 170 times for 719 yards, scoring a team-leading nine touchdowns. Lowery's longest run of the season -- a 30-yarder -- demonstrated his ability to break tackles and create explosive chunk plays. Lowery contributed in the passing game, as well, hauling in two receptions for 19 yards.
