MADISON -- The Clinton High School Football team dropped its season finale against the Madison Central Jaguars in a hard-fought Mississippi High School Activities Assocation (MHSAA) Region 2-7A game at Jaguar Stadium on Thursday, November 6.
Tripp Smith threw three touchdown passes -- two coming during the second half -- and the Jaguars rallied past the Arrows, 28-16.
Clinton ended their 2025 campaign with a 4-6 overall record and a 1-4 mark in region play, narrowly missing the playoffs. The Arrows needed a win of at least eight points to clinch the postseason berth.
In the first half,
Braylon Lowery provided a spark for the Arrow offense with two rushing touchdowns of 15 and 10 yards. His second touchdown gave the Arrows a 16-14 lead with 1:08 remaining in the second quarter.
Madison Central had taken a 14-9 lead midway through the second with Mikel Stephens' seven-yard touchdown carry and Smith's touchdown pass to Tylan Hutchins.
After halftime, Smith put the Jaguars ahead with a 47-yard strike to Hutchins at the third quarter's 7:39 mark, 21-16. After a Clinton interception, Smith found Eli Dampier for an 11-yard touchdown pass in the fourth, putting Madison Central ahead by 12 points.
The Arrows' last two drives ended with a turnover on downs and an interception, sealing the victory for the Jaguars.

The Arrow offense totaled 328 yards on 62 plays, running 30 times for 93 yards and completing 16 passes for 235 yards.
- Lowery led the rushing attack with 12 carries for 44 yards, and Jayden Jones had nine carries for 37 yards.
- Jones completed 16 of 31Â passes for 235 yards. The sophomore signal caller had a long of 64 yards.
- Jamari Smith five receptions for 70 yards, Jaden Johnson had four catches for 82 yards, and John Jackson had three receptions for 46 yards.
