WESSON -- The Clinton High School Softball team easily defeated the Wesson Cobras, 24-6, Tuesday night at Wesson High School. The Lady Arrows have won six of their first eight games of the young season.
After setting the tone early, the Lady Arrows never looked back in the road victory.
Clinton erupted for 11 runs in the opening inning and continued to apply pressure throughout the night, adding two runs in the second, two more in the third, one in the fourth, and eight in the fifth to secure the run-rule win.
The Lady Arrows piled up 13 hits and drew 10 walks, finishing with 19 RBIs in a dominant offensive showing.
Cailyn Willis led the charge with a four-run performance at the plate, collecting two hits and driving in two runs while also swiping three bases.
Madison Rhodes scored three times, drove in two runs, and added three stolens bases of her own.
Maci Barclay delivered one of the biggest swings of the night, finishing with two hits and four RBIs, including a double.
Jaelyn Gholar added two hits and three RBIs, while
Keelyn Constancio went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a walk.
In the circle,
Presleigh Burrow worked five innings, allowing just three hits and three earned runs. The freshman struck out one.
