CLINTON -- The Clinton High School Women's Soccer team dug deep to secure a pivotal Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Region 2-7A victory on Tuesday night.
The Lady Arrows erased an early one-goal deficit and rallied for a 2–1 win over the Germantown Lady Mavericks at Arrow Field, improving their district mark to 5–2 and their overall record to 10-3-3.
Germantown struck first, converting a free kick with five minutes remaining in the first half and carried the one-goal advantage into the locker room.
Clinton answered after the break as freshman
Alex Holmes drew the Lady Arrows level with a well-time redirect at the top of the 6-yard box in the 53rd minute. Nine minutes later,
Ja'Milah Williams broke free behind the defense, and while her shot clanged off the near post, the ball caromed off a Germantown defender and into the open net for the decisive goal.
