MADISON -- The CJHS Boys' Cross Country team claimed victory behind great invidivual performances on Tuesday evening.
Micah Kieffer ran an 11:36 in the 3000m race, winning the individual title, and the Arrows claimed the top of the podium, defeating Madison Middle School by three points, at the Jaguar Trails Middle School Meet.
Kieffer was joined in the top five by teammate
Coleman Finch, who finished in 11 minutes, 42 seconds -- a time good enough for second.
Ethan McQueen and
Jace Williamson placed sixth and seventh, respectively. McQueen clocked a 12:03, and Williamson paced a time of 12 minutes, 11 seconds.
Adrian Brown grabbed the 10th spot with 12:23 time, snatching victory away from the Arrows' rival.
In the girls' 3000m race, the Lady Arrows landed in third place for the team competition, and AvaKate Boone was the top individual for the red and black.
Boone completed the 3000m course in 14 minutes, 41 seconds and was the 11th finisher.
Norah Byars completed the race in 14 minutes, 43 seconds, a 12th-place finish, and
Lauren Kennedy landed in 18th place with her 12:25 time.
Leah Byas and
Anna Dear rounded out the scoring five runners for the Lady Arrows. Byas and Dear completed the race in 17 minutes, eight seconds, and 17 minutes, 31 seconds, respectively.
