PEARL -- The Clinton High School Women's Track and Field team won their final tune-up event -- the Woody Barnett Invite -- on Friday at Pearl High School. The Lady Arrows defeated 18 other competing teams with a team score of 226 and one-half points -- 149 and one-half points more than the second-place Pearl.
Numerous Lady Arrows captured individual victories in several events.
Kaitlyn Jones won the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles.
Kaedyn Wilson scored a blue-ribbon finish in the 3200m race. Taylor Finley won the long jump event.
Kate Jackson won the pole vault, and Zaley Madkin won the triple jump. The Clinton Women's team won the 4x400m relay and the 4x800m relay.
The Clinton High School Men's team finished in fourth place out of 19 competing teams.
Howard Banks captured a first-place finish in the 400m race. The Arrows' 4x800m relay team finished second. In the field events,
Nathan Perkins captured third place in the discuss throws, and
Tyler Bilbrew grabbed second place in the shot put. Freshman Daniel Dickinson captured third place in the pole vault.
