BROOKHAVEN -- The Clinton High School Track and Field teams delivered a dominant performance Friday, sweeping both the girls' and boys' team titles at the Brookhaven Speed Trials at Brookhaven High School.
The Arrows totaled 220.5 team points, a 54-point cushion over Brookhaven, while the Lady Arrows amassed 254.5 points, defeating Hattiesburg by 96.5 points.
Clinton's girls showcased team-wide balance across sprints, distance, field events, and relays.
On the track, Camille Lewis claimed the 100-meter dash in 12.25 seconds, while Andraeia Cavett won the 100-meter hurdles in 14.55. In the 200 meters, Kamiah Mounger took first in 25.77 seconds with Jade Evans finishing second in 26.31.
Distance standout Caroline Henry swept the 1600m (5:33.23) and 3200m (12:04.20), while Shekinah Jenkins captured first in the 800m in 2:33.65.
The Lady Arrows were especially dominant in the relays, sweeping all four events -- 4x100m (49.30), 4x200m (1:41.43), 4x400m (4:04.52), and 4x800m (10:22.48).
The Arrows matched the girls' performance with explosive sprints and outstanding throws.
Aiden Knox won the 100 meters in 10.60 seconds, and Carter Parks took first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.89. Parks also won the 300-meter hurdles in 40.03.
In the field events, Nathan Perkins dominated the discus with a throw of 163-7, while Jonathan Rockett captured the shot put with a toss of 54-8.5.
Elijah Waldo-Speth won the 3200 meters in 10 minutes, 48.81 seconds.
Clinton's relay teams added major momentum, claiming first in the 4x100m (42.44) and 4x800m (8:26.84).
