The Clinton High School Softball team tallied 17 hits and its pitching staff allowed on two hits against Warren Central for a 16-0, run-rule win in a five innings on Friday night on the campus of CHS.
Keelyn Constancio collected three singles in all three at bats.
Estrella Constancio, who went 3-for-4 at the plate, provided pop in the middle of the line-up as she brought in five runs.
Madison Nelson and
Jaelyn Gholar, who had two of the five stolen bases, each had three hits for the Lady Arrows, as well.
Ashlen Albritton earned the win for Clinton inside the circle. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out two and walking two.
Annalise Whitworth closed out the game in the fifth, allowing no hits, no runs, and struck out two Lady Vikings.
Clinton got on the board in the bottom of the second frame.
Kaelyn Thames doubled to center field, Nelson singled,
Hayden-Leigh Holifield singled to left field, Mackenzie Cooley grounded out,
Keelyn Constancio singled to the left side of the infield, and
Estrella Constancio singled to center field. Each of those at bats scored one run.
The Lady Arrows extended their lead with four runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Gholar and
Estrella Constancio.
Clinton added six runs on five hits in the fourth. Holifield drew a walk, scoring one run, Gholar singled, scoring two runs,
Keelyn Constancio singled, scoring one run, and Constancio singled, scoring two runs.
