CLINTON -- Presleigh Burrow homered,
Maci Barclay delivered a two-run double, and
Madison Nelson tossed a no-hitter in the circle as the Clinton High School softball team rolled to a 17-0 victory over the Murrah Lady Mustangs in Region 2-7A play Thursday night at Clinton High School.
With the win, the Lady Arrows improved to 5-1 in region action and 12-10 overall.
Nelson was dominant in the circle, facing just 11 batters across three innings. She struck out eight and walked two in her no-hit, no-run outing.
At the plate, Clinton totaled five hits.
Jaelyn Gholar added a double, while
Mia Thrailkill and
Keelyn Constancio each recorded a single.
The Lady Arrows wasted no time getting on the board, erupting for eight runs in the bottom of the first inning. Burrow and Nelson each drew bases-loaded walks to force in runs, while an error plated two more. Barclay was hit by a pitch to bring home another run, and Thrailkill capped the frame with an RBI walk.
Clinton followed with a nine-run second inning to put the game out of reach. Burrow opened the frame with an RBI walk, and Nelson later drew another walk to score a run.
Anna Raines was hit by a pitch to drive in another, before Barclay ripped a two-run double. Constancio added an RBI walk, and another Murrah error brought in a run. Burrow capped the inning with a solo home run to center field, extending the lead to 17 runs.

The Lady Arrows travel to Starkville to face the Lady Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7. Clinton then returns home to host Madison Central on Thursday, April 9, with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
