FLOWOOD -- The Clinton High School Baseball team dropped its first contest of the 2025 season at the hands of the Northwest Rankin Cougars on Tuesday night.
Northwest Rankin's Brady Saxton singled in a run during the first inning and hit a two-run homer in the second to help the home team to a 5-0 win over the Arrows at Wesley Scarbrough Field.
Stone Crain led Clinton with two hits in three at bats.
Parker Burrow, a freshman left-hander, gave up one hit and zero runs in three innings of relief.
The Cougars opened the scoring in the bottom of the first. Saxton singled, scoring one run. The two-hole hitter extended the advantage with a two-run blast in the next inning.
UP NEXT
Clinton participates in the Mid Mississippi Classic this Friday and Saturday. The Arrows will host Ridgeland High School at 7 p.m. on Friday and Senatobia High School at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Both games' location is Arrow Baseball Field on the campus of Clinton High School.
