RIDGELAND -- Parker Burrow delivered a pair of RBI doubles, and
Brady Holmes struck out eight as the Clinton High School baseball team knocked off the Ridgeland Titans, 5-2, in non-region action on Monday night at Ridgeland High School.
Burrow's game-tying RBI double in the top of the sixth inning ignited a four-run rally that sealed the victory, pushing the Arrows to 14-11 overall.
Clinton capitalized on the momentum in the frame, as
David Steelman laced a double down the right-field line, Ridgeland committed a costly error, and
Stone Crain added an RBI single to extend the lead to three runs.
Holmes earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs oer six and one-third innings. The junior reached the 50-strikeout mark for the season in the outing.
Gage Temple closed the door, recording the save.
Burrow acounted for Clinton's first run in the top of the second inning, but the Titans answered in the bottom half, taking a 2-1 lead following a Clinton error and an RBI single from Blake Maldonado.
At the plate,
Ryan Saxton,
Brayden Johnson, and Crain each had two-hit performances as the Arrows secured their second consecutive win.

Clinton returns home on Friday, April 17, hosting the Brookhaven Panthers at Arrow Baseball Field. Senior Night festivities honoring the Class of 2026 will take place prior to the varsity first pitch at 6:30 p.m. Junior varsity action begins at 4:30 p.m.
