CLINTON -- The Clinton High School Women's Basketball team weathered multiple surges from Raymond but closed strong, earning a 40–31 win over the Lady Rangers on Friday night at Arrow Gym.
In the Lady Arrows' third straight victory, senior Aria Jones led the way with a team-high 14 points, all scored after halftime, as the red and black held Raymond scoreless in the fourth quarter to pull away late.
Clinton (8-5) raced to a six-point cushion midway through the third quarter, but the Lady Rangers trimmed the deficit to one, 32–31, heading into the final frame. The Lady Arrows responded with their best stretch of the night, scoring the game's final eight points to seal the win.
Aniyla Cavett chipped in nine points, while Channie Agee added seven in a balanced scoring effort.
Grace Eatmon set the tone early, knocking down a pair of first-quarter three-pointers—one to open the scoring and another to close the frame—as Clinton took a 13–10 lead after one. Raymond answered in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Arrows to cut the halftime margin to 20–18.

The Lady Arrows return to action next week as they continue non-district play. Clinton will host Jim Hill on Tuesday, December 16, at Arrow Gym. Varsity tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
