Kaedyn Wilson had a record-setting running career for the Clinton High School Cross-Country team and Track and Field team. Now, she is able to continue that career and pursue collegiate-level distance running.

Wilson signed her national letter of intent to run for Blue Mountain Christian University on Friday morning in the Clinton High School Media Center. She was joined by teammates, friends, family, and coaches as she made her collegiate decision official.

While at Clinton, Wilson's personal best in the 5000m during her cross-country career was an 18:47 -- a Lady Arrow school record that she set last month. During the spring track season in the past two seasons, Wilson has posted personal bests of 5:23 in the 1600m and 11:53 in the 3200m. Those times are CHS records, as well. In the 800m, Wilson has been clocked with a time of two minutes, 32 seconds.

Her high-school performances have earned Wilson several accolades. She is a four-time Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) All-Region Cross-Country team member. Wilson is a back-to-back MHSAA All-State Cross Country team member, including ninth-overall finish in the 2024 MHSAA Class 7A Cross-Country Meet.

The senior was a member of the 2023 and 2024 Lady Arrow Track and Field MHSAA Class-7A Championship teams.

Recently, Wilson competed in the Running Lane National Championships on Dec. 7 in Huntsville, Ala. She finished in second-place among Mississippi competitors in the event.

"She is a determined young lady who is always looking for ways to improve," Head Girls' Cross Country Coach Allen Marett said of Wilson when she received the October Athlete of the Month Award on Oct. 16. "Along with the other seniors, she has given her best for six years to the (cross-country) team."
