The Lady Arrows Softball team defeated the Warren Central Lady Vikings by the score of 8-4 on Thursday night in Vicksburg. The win moves the Lady Arrows to a record of 6-4 on the season.
The Lady Arrows struck first with 2 runs in the top of the 1st on a double from
Estrella Constancio that scored
Madison Nelson and
Makenzie Cooley. The Lady Vikings answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame.
The Lady Arrows sent the score to 3-1 in the top of the 2nd inning when
Keelyn Constancio singled to the left side of the infield, scoring
Anna Raines. The Lady Vikings answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning on back-to-back doubles followed by a 2 RBI single to make the score 4-3.
The Lady Arrows answered with a 3 spot of their own in the top of the 4th inning when K Constancio hit a double to left field that scored Hayden Leigh-Holifield.
Madison Nelson then reached base on a passed ball with 2 strikes that scored Raines and Constancio to make the score 6-4 in favor of the Lady Arrows.
The Lady Arrows then added 2 more insurance runs in the top of the 7th when Holifield grounded into a fielder's choice that scored Cooley and E Constancio and made the score its final of 8-4.
For the Lady Arrows offensively, K Constancio went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. E Constancio went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and run scored. Keelyn Thames went 2-for-3 and also drew a walk to reach base 3 times on the night. Raines went 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored.
In the circle for the Lady Arrows, E Constacio pitched a complete game 7 innings, giving up only 4 hits to go along with 2 strikeouts.
The Lady Arrows' Friday game vs Puckett has been rescheduled for March 29th. The Lady Arrows return to action on Friday, March 15th when they travel to the Gulf Coast to take on Gulf Breeze and Biloxi in the Spring Break Tournament.
