The Clinton Arrows Tennis team earned an important Region 2-7A win on Thursday at Germantown by a score of 6-1. The win moves the Arrows to a record of 1-2 in the region.
On the Singles side,
Tejasvi Uppu and
Manas Guduru combined to win all but 1 game in their 4 sets. Uppu won 6-0, 6-0, and Guduru won his match 6-0, 6-1.
On the Doubles side, it was more of the same dominance as
Grayson Temple and
Tierney Cronin swpt their match,
Avanthi Remata and
Hannah Webb won 6-3, 6-1,
Kushal Mannam and
Ethan Rone won their match 6-0, 6-3, and
Owen Fulton and
Keaton Cole won the Mixed Doubles match in straight sets. The only loss for the Arrows was closely contested match from
Samuel Johnson and
Brady Mayfield in which the Arrows lost 5-7, 3-6.
Due to the Tupelo Girls Basketball team competing in the State Championship on Saturday, the tennis match will be rescheduled for a future date. The Arrows will return to action on Monday, March 4th when they face the Flashes of St. Aloysius.
