LAUREL -- The Clinton High School Tennis team earned a road victory Friday, February 13, defeating the West Jones, 5-2, at West Jones High School.
The Arrows set the tone in singles play. In boys' singles,
David Levi Johnson battled through a three-set thriller to defeat Ethan Albritton, 6-4, 1-6, 10-6. On the girls' side, Lauren Fischer delivered a dominant performance, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 victory to give Clinton a two-point cushion.
The Arrows' doubles teams continued the top-tier performances.
In the No. 1 boys' doubles,
Kushal Mannam and
Ethan Rone were sharp and rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 sweep. The No. 2 boys' doubles team of
Wyatt Rees and
Brady Mayfield secured another point in a tightly-contested match, winning 6-4, 2-6, 12-10.
The Lady Arrows picked up a key win in the No. 2 girls' doubles as
Hannah Webb and
Morgan Rowland claimed a 6-4, 6-2 victory. West Jones earned points in the No. 1 girls' doubles match and mixed doubles match.
With the 5-2 triumph, the Arrows demonstrated resilience in the early stages of the 2026 season.
