The Clinton High School Men's Soccer team enjoyed some scoring delight before the Christmas Break on Thursday night.
Six different Arrows recorded goals, including five scorers in the first half, as they romped past the Florence Eagles in a 7-0 win at Arrow Field. The game was called in the 50th minute due to the Mississippi High School Activities Association's (MHSAA) mercy rule.
Murphy Schoggen put away a deflected shot attempt in the 6th minute and the rout was started.
Owen Coker added his first goal in the 12th minute, and
Justin Singleton put away
Erick Martinez's assist in the 23rd minute.
The Arrows added three more goals before the intermission for a 6-0 lead. Braylon Spann clanked
Justin Singleton's cross off the bottom of the crossbar and into the goal. Coker added his second with an assist from
Ian Davis. Then, Davis turned assistant to goalscorer as the junior put away Schoggen's far-post cross.
Timothy Graham added the final goal in the second half. The junior striker volleyed a Florence clearance from the top of the 18-yard box and squeezed it past a diving goalie.
