The Clinton High School Women's Soccer team handled its business in another non-district game on Thursday night at Arrow Field.

Kayla Jones scored twice, and Mandy Leach added the night's final goal, lifting the Lady Arrows over the West Jones Lady Mustangs, 3-0. The victory improved Clinton's overall record to 4-1.

Jones scored here first goal in the 17th minute. The junior collected the ball 40 yards away from goal and drove past the West Jones defensive line -- four defenders in total. Once inside the 18-yard box, Jones struck the ball and beat the keeper with her shot into the bottom left corner.

Clinton doubled its advantage five minutes into the second half. Ja'Milah Williams dribbled past a defender into 18-yard box's right wing and slipped a pass to an awaiting Jones. Then, Jones expertly clipped the ball underneath the Mustang goalkeeper for the two-goal advantage.

Mandy Leach, with some help from Jones, made life easier in the 52nd minute. Jones, who made a back-post run on a Clinton corner kick, trapped the ball off the bounce, and slid it across the mouth of the goal. Leach attacked the pass and scored her second goal of the season.

Clinton's Ellyn Burchfield recorded her third clean sheet between the posts in five games.

The Lady Arrows become road warriors as they head to Hattiesburg on Tuesday night. Clinton takes on the Oak Grove High School (OGHS) Lady Warriors at 5:30 p.m. at OGHS.
