The Clinton High School Men's Soccer team kept its spirits high with a resounding win over the Choctaw Central Warriors on Tuesday night.
Wes Ambrose and
Juan Parades scored two goals apiece, and five other Arrows scored in the 9-0 rout of the Warriors that was called at the 50th minute due to the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) mercy rule at Arrow Field.
Parades scored the opener when
Timothy Graham slipped him an assist in the 4th minute.
In the next 10 minutes, the Arrows stretched its lead to four goals. Graham turned goal-scorer when he finished off an
Owen Coker assist in the 6th minutes, Parades finished an unassisted goal, and Ambrose scored his first when Coker assisted him by the 14th minute.
Parades helped Ambrose with his second goal, and Coker made the advantage seven when he scored from an Ambrose pass.
In the 26th minute,
Jackson Carter found a long pass to the feet of
Bradley Wells, who finished his opportunity with a flourish.
Jayden Fields scored when
Justin Singleton assisted the eighth and final goal of the first half.
Myles Manuel secured his first goal with an assist from
Cole Hayman in the 47th minute -- the game's last goal.
Ryan Saxton and
Daniel Dickinson combined for the clean sheet. It is the Arrows third shutout of the season.

The Arrows (3-0-1) take on the West Jones Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday night at Arrow Field. It is the last home game before a three-game away stretch.
