The Clinton High School Football team is well-rested for arguably the season's most important game on Friday night.
The Arrows (3-3) open their Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Region 2-7A slate with juggernaut Starkville High School paying a visit to Arrow Field. The region game is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff on the campus of Clinton High School.
Clinton returns to action after demolishing Terry High School 42-7 on Oct. 4 in Terry. The backfield combination of
Aaric Beasley and
Jakobe Williams gave the Arrows five of their six touchdowns in the win. The Arrow defense allowed its fewest points since a 12-6 win over Grenada High School on Oct. 21, 2022.
Under the direction of Head Football Coach Chris Jones, the Starkville Yellowjackets (5-1, 1-0 Region 2-7A) defeated the Germantown Mavericks 42-0 last Friday, Oct. 11. The game was Starkville's first Region 2-7A contest.
The Yellowjackets played a tough, non-region schedule that included the likes of defending state champions Louisville High School and West Point High School. In addition to those Mississippi high school powers, Starkville played Noxubee County High School, Oxford High School, and Greenwood High School to round out its non-region slate.
NATIONAL COMBINE INVITATION
Jaydann Hollins and
Tyboris Loftin received invitations for their participation in the U.S. Army Bowl's National Combine this week. The event will occur Dec. 19-21 in Frisco, Texas.
