The Clinton Arrows Soccer earned a 2-2 draw with the Northwest Rankin Cougars on Tuesday night at Arrow Field.  The result sends the Arrows' record to 17-2-3 as the regular season comes to its conclusion.

The Cougars started the scoring early as they were able to find the back of the net in the 3rd minute of play.  The score remained 1-0 until the teams headed into halftime.

The game turned into a fireworks show in the 2nd half as the Arrows found the equalizer in the 55th minute off the foot of Senior Logan Bryant.  The Arrows then took the lead with about 5 minutes left in the match as Sophomore Wes Ambrose found the net to make the score 2-1 Arrows.  The Arrows did everything they could to hold the lead until the Cougars were able to mount a desperation attack in the waning seconds and convert a scoring attempt as the final whistle blew.

Head Coach Tyler Wade said of his team's performance, "Tough way to end the game for sure. We didn't play well to start the first half. We found some things in the 2nd half and did well to equalize and kept pressing to go ahead. The 2nd half energy and effort were great and something we can hopefully build on heading to the playoffs."

The Arrows will return to action on Tuesday night, February 6, in the First Round of the MHSAA 7A playoffs.  The Arrows have earned the right to host their first round matchup and, while official brackets have not been released, the opponent will likely be the Eagles of Horn Lake High School.  Kickoff will follow the conclusion of the Lady Arrows' first round match that kicks off at 5 PM.
