The Clinton Arrows Soccer team continued their winning ways on Friday afternoon, defeating the Hi Tides of Miami Beach High School by a score of 2-1.  The win moves the Arrows to a record of 11-0 on the season.  The loss drops the Hi Tides to 6-1.

The Arrows scored early in the match, on a well-earned goal from both Seniors Logan and Keaton Cole.  Logan moved the ball past several Hi Tide defenders before finding twin brother Keaton, who was able to drive the ball past the Miami Beach goalkeeper to give the Arrows a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute.  The Hi Tides wasted no time equalizing the game as they scored in the 13th minute on a breakaway that was able to find the back of the net.  The teams traded physical moments through the rest of the first half, but no more goals were scored and the teams went to the locker rooms with a tie score of 1-1.

The second half was no different, with continuous physical play that involved numerous yellow cards.  The Arrows earned a corner kick in the 67th minute that would change the outcome of the game.  The corner kick was delivered and the ball was loose in the box before Senior Price Farrar found the ball with his foot and put it in the back of the net.  Despite the complaints of the Hi Tides, the Arrows took the lead 2-1 with 13 minutes left in the game.  The final 13 minutes saw more yellow cards, a red card, and an intensity that drove the Arrows to defend their slim lead and remain victorious by a score of 2-1.

Head Coach Tyler Wade was complimentary of his team's effort.  "I am proud of resiliency the guys showed tonight. We challenged them before the game to set the tone early and play with relentless effort and I thought that was apparent throughout the game. The game was very physical and we did well to go ahead early, credit them for equalizing pretty quickly to even the game. Our guys continues to fight back and create chances and eventually found the game winner on and effort play. I felt like that was the type of game we needed this year and hopefully we can use that result to continue to progress this season. We are excited for the next few weeks before the break."

The Arrows return to action on Tuesday night, December 12 as they play host to the Jaguars of Madison Central in the 2nd Region 2-7A match of the season.
