The Clinton Arrows Soccer Team continued their winning ways on Tuesday night as they defeated the Hartfield Academy Hawks by a score of 5-1. The win pushes the Arrows to a record of 8-0 on the season.
The Arrows scored their first goal in the 17th minute as Senior Defender
Brady Torrence put one in the back of the net off an assist by Junior
Erick Martinez.
In the 2nd half, the Arrows poured it on as Senior
Logan Cole scored in the 45th minute on an assist from Senior
Brice Nunnery. The Hawks scored their lone goal of the night in the 60th minute to bring the score to 2-1. Nunnery scored a goal of his own, his first of the night, as he made the score 3-1 in the 70th minute. Senior
Price Farrar scored the 4th goal of the night on a Penalty Kick in the 78th minute. Nunnery capped the scoring with his 2nd goal of the night in the waning seconds of the match on an assist from Cole to get the score to its final of 5-1.
Arrows' Head Coach Tyler Wade said of the match, "We continue to control possession and create in our attacking half. We are still struggling to take games over consistently be dangerous in front of goal. Fortunate to be able to get ahead and put teams away eventually. Have to keep pushing and execute at a higher rate. I am excited to see what the group can do going forward."
The Arrows return to action this Saturday at home, taking on the Patriots of Lewisburg High School. It will be Senior Day for the Arrows as they will recognize 13 Seniors in the Class of 2024 prior to kickoff on Saturday. The festivities will begin around 3:30 PM and kickoff will be at 4 PM.
