TUPELO -- The Clinton High School women's cross country team placed second at the ON Running Tupelo Invitational on Saturday, September 12, on the campus of Tupelo High School.
Caroline Henry paced the Lady Arrows, finishing fourth overall with a time of 20:29 in the 5000m race.
Riley Moore followed in sixth at 20:36, while
Olivia Gibbs finished 8th with a time of 20:42, giving Clinton three runners inside the individual top 10.
Eleanor Wilson and
Lily Sisson completed Clinton's scoring five, placing 13th and 39th, respectively.
Clinton finished with 61 points, tying host Tupelo atop the team standings. The Lady Wave claimed the team title on the tiebreaker, leaving the Lady Arrows with a runner-up finish after winning their first two varsity meets of the season.
The Lady Arrows posted an average time of 21:16 with a spread of 2:27 and placed six runners inside the top 50.
The Clinton Junior High School girls' team placed fifth in the two-mile race.
Anna Dear paced CJHS, finishing 10th overall with a time of 13:55.
AvaKate Boone followed in 15th at 14:18, while
Norah Byars finished 27th with a time of 15:07.
Avery Harrison and
Charlie Berdami completed CJHS' scoring five.
UP NEXT
The Lady Arrows return to action on Saturday, September 19, at the Valhalla Invitational in Vicksburg.
