CLINTON -- The Clinton High School women's cross country team won the team championship at the Clinton Arrow Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26, on the campus of Clinton High School.
Olivia Gibbs paced the Lady Arrows, finishing third overall with a time of 19:48.1 in the 5000m race.
Riley Moore followed in fifth at 20:03.5, while
Caroline Henry finished seventh with a time of 20:14.4, giving Clinton three runners inside the top seven.
Eleanor Wilson and
Lily Sisson completed Clinton's scoring five, placing 12th and 22nd with times of 21:18.3 and 22:23.2, respectively.
Outside the scoring five,
Eleanor Freeny placed 24th, giving the Lady Arrows six runners inside the individual top 25.
Clinton finished with 49 points, 40 points ahead of runner-up Madison Central. The Lady Arrows posted an average scoring time of 20:46 with a 2:36 spread.
The Clinton Junior High School girls' cross country team placed fifth in the team standings of the 3000m race.
AvaKate Boone paced the Junior Lady Arrows, finishing second overall with a time of 12:42.1.
Charlie Berdami followed in 38th, while
Avery Harrison finished 47th.
Mirabel Nohra and
Brooklyn McElroy completed CJHS' scoring five, placing 50th and 63rd, respectively.
UP NEXT
Clinton returns to action Monday, Oct. 5, at the Cathedral Invitational in Natchez. The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
