BRANDON -- The Clinton High School women's cross country team claimed its first meet victory of the season, winning at the Southern Heatwave Classic on Saturday, August 29, at the City of Brandon Cross Country Trail.

Olivia Gibbs paced the Lady Arrows, finishing fifth overall with a time of 20:29.4 in the 5000-meter race.

Riley Moore followed in eighth at 20:43.1, while Eleanor Wilson crossed the finish line in 12th with a time of 21:39.1.

Caroline Henry and Eleanor Freeny completed Clinton's scoring five, placing 16th and 20th, respectively, to help secure the Lady Arrows' first team victory.

The Clinton Junior High School girls also competed at the Southern Heatwave Classic, placing fourth in the team standings.

AvaKate Boon led the Lady Arrows with an eighth-place finish, completing the 3000-meter race in 13:26.

Anna Dear followed in 11th with a time of 13:32.2, while Norah Byars placed 25th at 14:37.8. Avery Harrison, and Charlie Berdami completed the Lady Arrows' scoring five.
