CLINTON -- The Clinton High School Baseball team opened its two-game Region 2-7A series, defeating the Murrah Mustangs, 17-0, Tuesday night at Arrow Baseball Field.
Ethan Dodson doubled twice,
Stone Crain tossed three shutout innings, and the Arrows rolled to a run-rule victory on bitterly cold night. The win improved Clinton to 11-3 overall and 2-1 in region play.
Dodson turned in a perfect night at the plate, lacing two extra-base hits and drawing a walk. The senior shortstop finished with two RBIs and scored three runs.
Crain set the tone on the mound, allowing one hit, while striking out five Mustangs across three scoreless innings.

Drew McGahey,
Parker Burrow,
Ryan Saxton, Wes Warren, and Crain each added hits in the Arrows' 10-hit effort.
Clinton scored 15 runs during the first inning before adding two more in the second to secure the run-rule win.

Clinton and Murrah will wrap up the region series Friday in Jackson. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
