BRANDON -- The Clinton High School Baseball team defeated the Lewisburg Patriots, 7-4, in the Mid-Mississippi Classic on Saturday at Brandon Middle School.
A clutch swing in the second inning helped the Arrows seize control for good.
Chad Bates roped a double to give the Arrows a 2-1 advantage.
Case Robinson extended the Arrows' lead to 3-1 in the next frame, delivering a triple and kept pressure squarely on the Patriots.
Clinton scratched across another run in the fourth before a three-run sixth provided key insurance to seal the non-district victory. The win improved the Arrows' overall record to 3-1
On the mound, senior right-hander
Stone Crain earned the win. Crain surrendered one hit and one run over three innings of work.
Gage Temple,
Brady Holmes, and
Jake Bell each appeared in relief for the Arrows.
Clinton piled up 12 hits against Lewisburg.
Ethan Dodson, Crain, and Robinson each recorded two-hit performances. Robinson and Bates each drove in two runs.

Clinton returns home Tuesday night to host the Pearl Pirates at Arrow Baseball Field. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by varsity at 7 p.m.
