CLINTON -- The Clinton High School Tennis team started its 2026 campaign with a resounding result at the UTSA High School Classic on Saturday, February 7, in Ridgeland. The CHS Red team won Flight 2, defeating St. Aloysius, French Camp Academy, and Northwest Rankin. The CHS Black team defeated Warren Central but fell to Pontotoc and Northwest Rankin.
In the MHSAA Region 2-7A opener, the Arrows dropped a 7-0 decision to Madison Central on Monday, February 9, at Brighton Park in Clinton.
In singles action, Kushal Mannam fell to Harrison Lowe in straight sets, 3-6, 3-6, while Hannah Webb was defeated by Hanika Kherath, 0-6, 0-6.
Doubles play saw Madison Central maintain control throughout the afternoon. The No. 1 pairing of David Levi Johnson and Wyatt Rees faced Philip LeRoux and Preston Royal, falling 0-6, 1-6. At No. 2 doubles, Brady Mayfield and Micaela Guinn were defeated by Henry Collier and Khalid Alhaklz, 0-6, 1-6.
Clinton's female doubles teams of Mackenzie Tuster and Mary Gladney dropped a 2-6, 3-6 decision, while Kimber Brooks and Morgan Rowland battled through three sets at No. 4 doubles before falling 4-6, 6-4, 5-10.
Ethan Rone and Elaina Cook rounded out doubles play with a 2-6, 2-6 loss.

The Arrows return to action on Wednesday, taking on Ridgeland in men's varsity play at Brighton Park. Then, the Arrows take on Warren Central on the road this Thursday and host West Jones on Friday.
