CLINTON -- The Clinton High School Arrow Archery team came up short Tuesday evening, falling to the Germantown Mavericks by a razor-thin, two-point margin at the CJHS Gym.

Germantown posted a team score of 3,172 narrowly edging Clinton's 3,170 in one of the tightest matches of the early season.

Jacob Taylor paced the Arrows with a team-high 284 out of a possible 300, while Gracie McGahey followed with a 263 to anchor the varsity effort.

The junior high team delivered a strong performance of its own, claiming the team win behind Micah Riggs' 265 and Presley Mitchell's 217.

Despite the varsity setback, Clinton continued to showcase steady scoring and competitive edge across the high school and junior high divisions.
