Twenty-Five CHS Teams Receive MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Team Honors

The Clinton High School athletic teams have not only shown dedication in competition but inside the classroom this year.

Twenty-five CHS sports teams achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher this year and were recognized by the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) for this accomplishment as MHSAA Scholar-Athlete teams for the 2024-25 school year on Thursday.

"Our student athletes, coaches, and teachers who are a part of CPSD Athletics have done an amazing job (this school year)," Clinton Athletics Director Judd Boswell said. "Twenty-five sports teams have met the MHSAA Scholar Athlete Team criteria, which is a combined team GPA of 3.0 or higher. This is a remarkable achievement and a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our Arrows both on and off the field.

"We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the positive representation they bring to our school," Boswell added.

Fourteen of the 25 Clinton teams achieved a combined GPA of 3.5 or higher. Boys Tennis (3.867), Girls Tennis (3.833), Girls Swim (3.784), Girls Soccer (3.728), Girls Golf (3.720), Boys Cross Country (3.620), Girls Powerlifting (3.614), Fastpitch Softball (3.589), Girls Bowling (3.573), Girls Track and Field (3.556), Cheer (3.538), Baseball (3.531), Volleyball (3.510), and Boys Golf (3.500).
