CLINTON -- The CJHS and Sumner Hill Basketball programs have completed their 13-game regular season and now eye the start of their respective Little Six Conference Tournament journies, starting with the play-in rounds on Thursday, December 11.
CJHS GIRLS
The CJHS 8th-grade girls' basketball team closed out a flawless regular season, finishing 13-0 in Little Six Conference action.
The Lady Arrows capped their unbeaten run with a 38-11 victory over Germantown on Monday, securing the top seed out of the conference's west division.
CJHS now turns its attention to postseason play, starting their Little Six Conference Tournament journey on Monday, December 15, on their home court at CJHS gym. Tip-off time is to be determined.
The CJHS 7th-grade team finished undefeated in its three games played this season, as well.
The Lady Arrows are led by Head Coach Tori Hataway and Assistant Coach Anna Kate Rimmer.
CJHS BOYS
The CJHS 8th-grade boys' basketball team is hitting its stride at the right time, closing the regular season on a four-game winning streak to carry momentum to postseason play.
The Arrows concluded the regular season with a 9-4 overall record and a 6-2 divisional record, earning the No. 2 seed in the conference's west division. Despite injuries to key players, the team has shown resilience and toughness, battling for victories and finding stability during its current positive run.
CJHS hosts the quarterfinal round of the tournament at the CJHS Gym on Monday, December 15. The Arrows' opponent is to be determined at this time.
SUMNER HILL GIRLS
In her first year at the helm, Head Coach Nikita Mitchell guided the Sumner Hill Lady Arrows to an impressive 11-2 record in Little Six Conference play. The strong campaign secured the No. 2 seed, earning Sumner Hill a home game at Arrow Gym on Monday, December 15. Tip-off time is still to be determined.
Mitchell's inaugural season showcased growth, resilience, and consistency from her squad as they now turn their attention to postseason play with momentum on their side.
