Chad Bates drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Clinton High School Baseball team past the St. Andrew's Saints, 10-5, on Saturday afternoon at Arrow Field.
Bates singled in the third inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the fifth, scoring two more.
Clinton racked up six hits, but, more impressively, tallied seven walks for the game.
Ethan Dodson led the Arrows with a pair of free passes.

Tyrese Haggard, and
Aaric Beasley had the other three hits.
Brady Holmes earned the win for Clinton on the bump. The reliever gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over one and two-thirds innings.
Jack Grove started the game for the Arrows, striking out three and walking five.
Wes Ambrose and
Phillip Burchfield each threw shutout innings forthe home side.
The Saints opened the game with a three-run top of the first. However, the Arrows got off the mat when they grabbed a 7-3 lead in the third.
PLAYOFF BRACKET SET
Clinton (17-7, 3-5 Division 2-7A) completed its Divison 2-7A campaign as the fourth seed in the standings, achieving a postseason berth in the MHSAA Class 7A State Playoffs. The Arrows will play a best-of-three series against the Hernando Tigers, starting on Friday, April 25. Times will be determined at a later date and announced through Clinton Athletics social-media platforms and website.
Other playoff match-ups in the Class 7A North Bracket include Tupelo versus Lewisburg, Madison Central versus DeSoto Central, and Starkville versus Oxford.Â
UP NEXT
The Arrows conclude their regular season with a pair of non-district games. Clinton travels to Newton County for a Junior-Varsity game at 5 p.m. and Varsity game at 7 p.m. Then, the red and black returns home for a game against the Brookhaven Panthers on Thursday at Arrow Field. The Junior Varsity team plays at 4:30 p.m. followed by a 6:30 p.m. start for the Varsity team.
