The Clinton High School Women's Basketball team continued its unbeaten start to the season, demonstrating its tenacity and resilience, with a come-from-behind 36-30 win over the Lanier Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday night at Arrow Gym.

With the result, the Lady Arrows improved to a 4-0 record early in the 2025-26 campaign.

After holding a 16-15 lead at halftime, Clinton saw its slim advantage slip away as Lanier grabbed a 24-22 lead after the third quarter and stretched it to 27-24 early in the fourth. But, just as the Lady Arrows did in last Friday's rally over Ridgeland, the red and black turned up the pressure and used a 10-0 run in the closing minutes to seize control and secure another win.

Senior forward Grace Eatmon credits the team's unity and toughness for their composure in late-game situations.

"We have a really young group -- a lot of 10th-graders -- but nobody on the team quits," Eatmon said. "We all keep fighting and we're all here to pick each other up. That's what really makes us able to keep going. When one person's down, we pick each other up, and we're never going to stop fighting."

Kayland Ellis and Aria Jones led the Lady Arrows with 11 points each. Ellis anchored Clinton with three, first-half 3-pointers for the one-point advantage by intermission, while Jones provided a calmness at the free-throw line, converting six foul shots in the second half.

Eatmon added that early success cannot derail the team's focus as humility will be a key as the season progresses.

"We just have to keep the mindset that we're just as good as everybody else, but we can't let our heads get too big," Eatmon said. "The second that we start to think we're way better than everybody else, that's when we stop caring. We just need to stay humble and keep pushing."

Clinton's early-season victories have come against Terry, Ridgeland, Forest, and, now, Lanier.
