STARKVILLE -- The Clinton High School Women's Basketball team dropped a 45-31 decision to the Starkville Lady Jackets in a Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) District 2-7A game on Tuesday night on the campus of Starkville High School.
Starkville grabbed a three-point advantage in a low-scoring first quarter, leading 6-3 by way of a pair of 3-pointers. Then, the Lady Jackets extended their lead before halftime, outpacing the Lady Arrows 14-5 in the second.
Clinton chipped away at the hosts' lead but never dropped the deficit lower than double digits in the second half.
Grace Eatmon led the Lady Arrows with nine points.
Caitlin White added eight points, and
Jatoi Johnson contributed seven.

Clinton, which holds a 14-5 overall record and a 1-2 District 2-7A record, takes on the Murrah Lady Mustangs on Thursday evening at Arrow Gym. It is a rescheduled contest from the original Friday date. The Lady Arrows and the Lady Mustangs tip off at 5:30 p.m.
