The Clinton Arrows Baseball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Starkville on Thursday night. The loss drops the Arrows to a record of 6-10 and 0-4 in Region 2-7A.
The only runs of the game were scored in the bottom of the 5th inning, when Starkville piled up 4 hits to score 3 runs. The Arrows were only able to muster 3 hits on the night. The Arrows did load the bases with nobody out in the top of the 7th but were unable to plate any runs.
At the plate for the Arrows, Seniors
AJ Seiter and
Mason Osborne along with Sophomore
Chad Bates accounted for the 3 hits on the night.
On the mound for the Arrows, Junior
Parker Thames took the loss, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs to go along with 4 strikeouts. Junior
Brody Zumbro pitched the final 1.2 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run.
The Arrows return to action on Saturday afternoon as they host the Vicksburg Gators. JV will begin at noon and Varsity will begin at 2 PM.
