The Clinton Arrows Baseball team fell to the Starkville Yellow Jackets on Tuesday night at Arrow Field by a score of 10-4.  The loss drops the Arrows to an overall record of 6-9 and 0-3 in Region 2-7A.

The Yellow Jackets scored early on as they plated 3 runs in the 1st inning, all with 2 outs.  They then scored 7 runs on 7 hits in the top of the 2nd to extend their lead to 10-1.  The Arrows scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit.

At the plate for the Arrows, the offense compiled 9 hits on the night.  Sophomores Stone Crain, Ethan Dodson, and Chad Bates all had multi-hit nights.  Crain went 2-for-4 with a double, Dodson went 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Bates went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

On the mound for the Arrows, Senior Ethan Ross got the loss, going 1.1 innings and giving up 6 hits and 8 runs.  Junior Phillip Burchfield bridged the gap, going 4.2 innings while giving up 5 hits and striking out 5.  Kemper Meacham pitched the final inning on only 6 pitches.

The Arrows return to action on Thursday night as they travel to Starkville.  The game was originally scheduled for Friday night, but was pushed up due to the weather forecast.  JV will begin at 5 and Varsity will begin at 7.
