The 2024 season began with a hot start for the Clinton Arrows Tennis program. The tennis team earned a 7-0 sweep of the Richland Rangers on Monday afternoon on campus at Clinton High School. The win pushes the record to 1-0 for the tennis team.
The two singles matches were 6-0,6-0 sweeps for both the boys and girls. Senior
Owen Fulton won the girls' singles match and Sophomore
Ethan Rone won the boys' singles match.
On the doubles side, the Arrows dropped only 3 games out of 5 2-set matches.
Tejasvi Uppu and
Avanthi Remata swept their two sets.
Grayson Temple and
Tierney Cronin also swept their sets. On the boys' side,
Samuel Johnson and
Kushal Mannam swept their 2 sets.
Manas Guduru and
Brady Mayfield won their match by scores of 6-1, 6-1. The mixed doubles team of
Hannah Webb and
Jacob Strickler won their match by a score 6-1, 6-0.
The tennis team returns to action this Thursday afternoon as they open the road portion of their schedule, traveling west to Vicksburg to take on the Vikings of Warren Central. The match will begin at 4 PM.
