Carly Howell's 24th minute goal from long distance and a pair of second-half goals lifted the Clinton High School Women's Soccer team over the Florence Lady Eagles, 3-1, at Arrow Field on Thursday night.
As Florence had a lion's share of possession, the Lady Arrows did not have many opportunities in the opening half. However, Howell took advantage of her opportunity and fizzed a driven shot low into the goal's left corner. The Lady Arrows took the one-goal advantage into the intermission.
Ja'Milah Williams, who returned from a brief injury stint, doubled Clinton's advantage in the 58th minute. The Lady Eagles answered 14 minutes later, cutting the lead in half, but
Kayla Jones put away any fears of a comeback as she scored two minutes later.
